Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu (4,593ft/1400m). Arrive in Kathmandu where you will meet your guide and check into our OneSeed partner lodge in the heart of the ancient city of Patan, Kathmandu. Catch up on some much needed sleep and venture out for dinner!

Inclusions: Private airport transfer; accommodations; no meals

Day 2: Kathmandu (4,593ft/1400m). Spend the day exploring the Kathmandu Valley. Shake the jetlag with a visit to Swayambhunath, the “Monkey Temple”. Take in the views of the city from atop one of the most important Buddhist stupas in Nepal. Return around 1pm to spend the afternoon exploring the city on your own. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner banquet.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Syabru Besi (4,790ft/1460m). Travel by private jeep or private bus to the trailhead of the Langtang region. The 6-7 hour ride is worth the beautiful views.

Inclusions: All meals (Choice of 2 options including vegetarian, coffee, tea, water. Other options available for guest purchase), transportation, park entrance fee, trekking permit, accommodations.

Day 4: Syabru Besi to Lama Hotel (8,399ft/2560m). Begin your ascent up to the village of Khangjim and Sherpaguauan village (~3 hours). Stop for lunch and take in the spectacular views. Continue your hike up to the village of Lama Hotel (3-4 hours). 

Total distance: 9 miles. Approximately 6-7 hours of trekking

Day 5: Lama Hotel to Langtang Village (11,335ft/3455m). Begin your day with a gentle ascent but the trail gets steeper as the trek progresses. Climb through forests of rhododendron, maple, and oak. Upon arrival to Langtang Village, you are greeted with fluttering prayer flags, Tibetan style architecture, mani stone walls, roaming yaks and golden barley fields.

Total distance: 7 miles. Approximately 5 hours of trekking

Day 6: Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gumpa (12,522ft/3817m). The trail wanders through Langtang Village before making a gentle ascent past the pocket of Tamang settlements and yak pastures. After three hours of walking, reach Kyanjin Gumpa, a centuries old monastory. Enjoy the entire afternoon to acclimatize and explore the surroundings. For a special treat, check out the yak cheese production center just north of Hotel Yala Peak.

Total distance: 4 miles. Approximately 3 hours of trekking

Day 7: Rest day in Kyanjin Gumpa (12,522ft/3817m). Relax and explore the town or take an optional 3 hour hike up to Kyanjin Ri, where hundreds of prayer flags adorn the mountain top.

Day 8: Kyanjin Gumpa to Rimche to Lama Hotel (8,189ft/2496m). Begin your descent to Lama Hotel, passing through scattered forests and along the flowing creeks and streams of the valley.

Total distance: 11 miles. Approximately 5-7 hours of trekking

Day 9: Lama Hotel to Syabru Besi (4,790ft/1460m). Enjoy your final day in the mountains! Head back to Syabru Besi via Wangel. From the trail, take in views of the surrounding hills. Enjoy a relaxing evening in Syabru Besi with a cup of tea and a hot shower.

Total distance: 7.2 miles. Approximately 5-7 hours of trekking

Inclusions: All meals (Choice of 2 options including vegetarian, coffee, tea, water. Other options available for guest purchase); accommodations.

Day 10: Syabru Besi to Kathmandu (4,593ft/1400m). Take a private jeep or private bus back to the capital. Join your fellow expedition members for a farewell dinner and plenty of toasting.

Day 11: Kathmandu (4,593ft/1400m). International flights depart.
