You are responsible only for personal clothing and gear listed below. We'll take care of everything else.  A gear check will be completed before you depart for the trail. This list does not include additional clothing/items you may want for travel or for your time off the trail.

Packing System: This expedition does not include porters. You are responsible for carrying all of your personal gear in your own pack.

Documents and Logistics

  • International flights booked and confirmed to Punta Arenas
  • Flight information submitted
  • Passport valid through end of trip (*Passport and entry receipt must be carried at all times during expedition!)
  • Medical insurance card
  • Cash for tipping guides, buying souvenirs, incidental costs, etc. (*Note: Please bring crisp US bills. Many places will not accept torn, wrinkled, or worn bills)

  • Backpack (for carrying your gear)
  • Down jacket
  • Fleece jacket (1)
  • Synthetic hiking pants (1)
  • Fleece pants or leggings
  • Waterproof Jacket
  • Rain pants
  • Synthetic long underwear (top and bottom)
  • Synthetic T-shirt (2)
  • Wool or synthetic hat
  • Glove liners
  • Ski gloves
  • Waterproof hiking boots
  • Yak trax or rubber cleated crampons 
  • Nylon-wool blend socks (2-3)
  • Sneakers (for walking around the lodges in the evening)
  • Day pack – should be light and easy to stuff in main pack when not in use
  • Water bottle
  • Headlamp
  • Sunglasses
  • Quick-dry towel
  • Personal toiletries and medicine (showers are available during the trek)
  • Sleeping bag w/ 0°F rating
  • Pack cover
  • Toilet paper in ziplock bag
  • Ditty Bag and extra ziplock baggies for toilet paper waste on the trail

  • Hotel reservations for extended time in Chile (if applicable)
