Weather at Machu Picchu: What to Expect

You’ve just booked your trip to Machu Picchu--now you’re wondering what the weather will be like on your expedition. You’re reading through the packing list and wondering what to bring and what to leave behind? On the trail to Machu Picchu you will be spending a lot of time outdoors so knowing what to expect in terms of weather is a good idea.

Average temperatures throughout the year:

         In the chart below you will notice how the average temperatures (in Fahrenheit) may reach high 60’s but can drop as low as low 30’s. Average precipitation throughout the year:

Which months are the driest? Which months are the rainiest? The rainy months are usually October to March. The driest season is typically April to September.
