Itinerary

Day 1: Kathmandu (4,593ft/1400m). We pick you up at the airport. Arrive in Kathmandu and check into our OneSeed partner lodge in the heart of the ancient city of Patan. Catch up on some much-needed sleep and venture out for some dinner on your own.

Day 2: Kathmandu (4,593ft/1400m). Spend the day exploring the Kathmandu Valley. Shake the jetlag with a visit to Swayambhunath, the “Monkey Temple”. Take in the views of the city from atop one of the most important Buddhist stupas in Nepal. Return around 1pm to spend the afternoon exploring the city on your own. In the evening, join your fellow travelers for a welcome dinner banquet.

Day 3: Kathmandu to Birethati (3,362ft/1025m). Travel by private van or jeep to Birethati, the entrance point for the Annapurna region. Stay in Birethati for the night.

Inclusions: Breakfast (Choice of 2 options including vegetarian, coffee, tea, water, juice, soft drinks); lunch (Choice of 2 options including vegetarian, coffee, tea, water. Other options available for guest purchase); transportation; double occupancy accommodations

Day 4: Birethati to Banthanti (6,430ft/1960m). Your expedition begins! This first day is a tough one. From the trailhead of Birethati, reach the village of Tirkhedhunga. Check out the stunning waterfalls as you pass through rhododendron forests.

Total distance: 8 miles. Approximately 4 hours trekking

Day 5: Banthanti to Ghorepani (9,393ft/2860m). Gaining almost 3,000ft/914m this day, you’ll be exhausted, but triumphant as you enter the hilltop village and get your first views of the Annapurna range. Tired legs are to be expected and a rest day will be appreciated.

Total distance: 6.2 miles. Approximately 5-7 hours of trekking

Day 6: Ghorepani to Tadapani (8,629ft/2600m). You ascend for two hours, stop for tea at Deurali, then descend down to Banthanti. Enjoy the picturesque waterfalls along the way.

Total distance: 7.5 miles. Approximately 5 hours of trekking

Day 7: Tadapani to Chomrong (7,119ft/2170m). Pass through Chule, a beautiful little village on a green ridge, and soak in the views of Kimrang Khola. After a steady ascent, reach Chomrong, one of the last villages on your trek inside the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Total distance: 5 miles. Approximately 4 hours of trekking

Day 8: Chomrong to Himalaya Hotel (9,580ft/2920m). From Chomrong, pass through Sinuwa Danda, and move through the thick forests to climb to Himalaya Hotel.

Total distance: 6.2 miles. Approximately 6 hours of trekking

Day 9: Himalaya Hotel to Machhapuchre Base Camp (12,139ft/3700m).Hike through pristine forests, moving into the alpine region where you will reach Base Camp of the famed Machhapuchre, also known as Mt. Fishtail. This is a tough day!

Total distance: 4 miles. Approximately 5 hours of trekking

Day 10: Machhapuchre Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (13,550ft/4130m). Now the terrain becomes more rugged.

Total distance: 2 miles. Approximately 2 hours of trekking

Day 11: Annapurna Base Camp (13,550ft/4130m). Take in the views and let those tired legs rest. You’ve made it!

Day 12: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo (7,579ft/2310m). Start your descent from the Annapurna Base Camp. It’s (almost) all downhill from here.

Total distance: 8 miles. Approximately 5-7 hours trekking

Day 13: Bamboo to Jhinu (5,840ft/1780m). Weather permitting, the Jhinu Hot Springs will be a welcomed luxury for tired bodies.

Total distance: 5.5 miles Approximately 3-4 hours trekking

Day 14: Jhinu to Landruk (5,135ft/1565m). Enjoy a short trek to the picturesque village of Landruk.  Surrounded by lush, terraced, rice paddies, rest your legs while taking in panoramic views of the Annapurna range.

Total distance: 2.5 miles. Approximately 3-4 hours trekking

Day 15: Landrunk to Pothana (6,201ft/1890m). Pothana is a beautiful village where you can get tasty sukuti (roasted dry meat) and enjoy some of the last clear views of the Annapurna range.

Total distance: 3 miles. Approximately 3-4 hours trekking

Day 16: Pothana to Pokhara (2,900ft/884m). Trek the return route to Phedi and then drive for 45 minutes to Pokhara. Enjoy Pokhara in the evenging as you bask in the accomplishment of the trek.

Total distance: 2 miles. Approximately 2 hours trekking

Day 17: Rest day in Pokhara (2,900ft/884m). Spend this rest day by the lake, taking in the views and enjoying your first hot shower in days!

You are responsible only for personal clothing and gear listed below. We'll take care of everything else.  A gear check will be completed before you depart for the trail. This list does not include additional clothing/items you may want for travel or for your time off the trail.  Any luggage not needed on the trail can be left in storage during your expedition.

Packing System: This expedition includes porters for bag transport. You are only responsible for carrying a daypack. We recommend packing your items in a large backpack or a durable duffle bag.

CLIMATE OVERVIEW

Peak season to travel to the Annapurna region falls between September and November and then again between February and April. The weather on the trail will vary at different altitudes, but in the town of Ghorepani, which is located at 9,393 feet; June is the hottest month of the year with averages as high as 68°F. Winter months like January can get a cold as 25°F.

The monsoon season falls during the summer months of June, July, and August, when rainfall can be as high as 5.5 inches per month. The rest of the year is relatively dry with only 1 inch of rain.

If you cancel 60 days or more prior to your scheduled departure for this adventure then you will be able to reschedule or be reimbursed the full cost of this adventure net the non-refundable deposit of $1000.00. If any cancellation is made less than 60 days prior to your scheduled departure for this adventure then you will lose the complete value of your experience.

If your expedition must be canceled by OneSeed due to circumstances outside of your control (e.g. natural disasters, weather, etc.), we will work with you to reschedule at no extra cost. If rescheduling is not possible, you will be reimbursed the total amount of your purchase less 20% of trip cost.
